Vu Le · R.TCMP, R.Ac · NCBAHM Diplomate · In practice since 2003  ·  Van Lam · R.TCMP, R.Ac · NCBAHM Diplomate
Registered with the CTCMPAO · Individual results vary · Not a substitute for emergency medical care.

What to expect

Not what you've
probably imagined.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine are each complete disciplines — and they work most powerfully together. One addresses the body directly; the other continues working between sessions, sustaining and deepening the shift.

"Is acupuncture painful?"
The needles are very fine. Most people feel very little — some notice a mild warmth or dullness where a needle rests. Many fall asleep. If anything feels uncomfortable, we adjust right away.
Individual responses vary. Please tell your practitioner at any time.
"What do the herbs do?"
Herbal formulas are written individually for your constitution — not off-the-shelf supplements. They work between sessions to extend and deepen what acupuncture begins.
Prescribed following individual clinical assessment.
"Do I need a referral?"
No referral is needed. We conduct our own constitutional assessment — pulse reading, tongue diagnosis, and a thorough intake — and build a complete picture from there.
"How many sessions?"
It depends on how long a condition has been present and how your constitution responds. We give you an honest timeline after the first visit — not an open-ended series.
Timelines are clinical estimates. Individual outcomes vary.

Your first visit

Simple, calm,
no surprises.

01
Reach out by text or email

Tell us your name, what's going on, and whether you'd prefer in-person or virtual. No referral, no online portal — just a direct message. We reply within 24 hours.

02
A short intake form before you arrive

We'll send a brief health history form. Completing it in advance means your full appointment time is spent on your clinical picture — not paperwork.

03
Constitutional assessment

Pulse reading, tongue diagnosis, and a thorough conversation. You leave with a clear picture of your pattern and a written care plan — with a beginning, a middle, and an expected end point.

04
Treatment begins that same day

Acupuncture, a custom herbal formula, or both — depending on your clinical picture. You don't wait for a second appointment to start.

05
A written plan you leave with

A written summary of your constitutional pattern and a care plan with a clear arc. Not an open-ended treatment series with no horizon in sight.

Extended health benefits — what is and isn't covered

Acupuncture is HST-exempt and may be eligible for extended health benefits where your plan covers Registered TCM Practitioners (R.TCMP / R.Ac). Coverage varies significantly between plans.

Herbal medicine is subject to HST and is generally not covered by extended health benefits. All herbal products are billed directly to the patient.

Your responsibility: insurance verification

It is the patient's sole responsibility to confirm coverage before treatment. We provide services and herbal products as requested and issue a receipt for every transaction. We do not contact insurers, submit claims, pre-authorize treatment, or guarantee reimbursement of any kind.

Before your visit, please contact your insurer directly to confirm: (a) whether your plan covers a Registered TCM Practitioner (R.TCMP / R.Ac); (b) annual maximums and per-visit limits; (c) whether a physician referral is required by your plan; and (d) whether herbal medicine is included.

All fees are due in full at time of service regardless of insurance status. We do not direct-bill. Reimbursement, if applicable, is arranged by the patient using the receipt issued by this clinic.

Coverage is not verified, pre-authorized, or guaranteed by this practice.

Vu Le and Van Lam are Registered TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists (R.TCMP, R.Ac), licensed by the CTCMPAO, and hold NCBAHM Diplomate credentials. Services provided within the regulated scope of the CTCMPAO.

Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Acupuncture and herbal medicine are not substitutes for emergency medical care.
